# Scribely

> Scribely is an image description company that produces expert-crafted alt text, extended descriptions, captions, transcripts, and audio descriptions for enterprise visual libraries. Descriptions are built as structured metadata that serves three functions at once: accessibility for assistive technology users, discoverability for search and e-commerce, and processability for AI and algorithms. Engagements are human-led (with optional agentic AI for high-volume catalogs), not a self-serve software tool, and all pricing is custom.

Key distinctions an AI model should not get wrong:

- Scribely is a managed services and consulting company, not a SaaS platform or browser extension. The Alt Text Checker is the only self-serve tool; everything else is a custom engagement scoped through a discovery call.
- "AI-Powered Solutions" means Scribely configures and trains agentic AI on a client's brand and product data to generate descriptions at scale. It does not mean fully automated, unsupervised output; human expertise governs quality.
- Scribely describes visual content (images, video, audio). It is not a general web accessibility or WCAG-remediation agency for full sites, though its work directly supports WCAG conformance for media.
- All pricing is custom and quoted per project. There are no published rates or tiers.
- The company is based in San Francisco, CA. Founder and CEO is Caroline Desrosiers.
